Support the Manifesto

Safe in Custody Manifesto visual

The Safe in Custody Manifesto is a public statement in support of torture prevention. It sets out four key principles and actions to reduce the risk of ill-treatment in police custody.

The Manifesto (in English and Thai) is a collective call for action, based on the outcomes of the Safe in Custody project and our shared vision for torture-free societies.

Join us in championing societies where everyone can be safe in custody.

Launching the Manifesto

We launched the #SafeInCustody Manifesto at our regional conference in Bangkok, Thailand, on 11 July 2024, bringing together partners from Malaysia, The Philippines and Thailand.

The conference was an opportunity to reflect on what we leant collectively during the #SafeInCustody project and the principles that will inform our ongoing torture prevention efforts.
