Five years after the Optional Protocol to the UN Convention against Torture (OPCAT) came into force, the APT convened the Global Forum on the OPCAT: Preventing Torture, Upholding Dignity: from Pledges to Actions, on 10 and 11 November 2011 in Geneva.
This event brought together an unprecedented group of over 300 experts, implementers and practitioners from around the world, to take stock of the OPCAT's novel system for preventing torture.
