The OPCAT Special Fund seeks to support initiatives which contribute to the implementation of recommendations made by the UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (SPT), in States which have been visited by the SPT and have agreed to make the visit report public.
State authorities, National Preventive Mechanisms, National Human Rights Institutions and NGOs can apply. The 2014 call is open to applications for projects undertaken in the following countries:
- Benin
- Brazil
- Honduras
- Maldives
- Mexico
- Paraguay
- Sweden
The maximum size of the grant is of $35’000 over a period of 12 months. Deadline for applications is on 30 October 2013.
