Mustafayev v. Ukraine

On 13 October 2011 the European Court found in the case of Mustafayev v. Ukraine the latter in violation of Article 3 of the ECHR (prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment). The complainant, a former police officer who himself had been convicted of abusing detainees in his charge, complained about the conditions in which he was kept at a pre-trial detention centre in late 2005 and early 2006.
