Logvinenko v Ukraine

On 14 October in the case of Logvinenko v Ukraine the European Court found the latter had violated Article 3, arguing that the complainant had suffered inhuman or degrading treatment as a result of the absence of comprehensive medical supervision and treatment for his tuberculosis and HIV over a six year period, and the Ukrainian authorities’ failure to ensure that he was placed in suitable prison conditions.
