On 3 March the ECHR found, among others, a violation of Article 3 of the Convention in the case of Kuptsov and Kuptsova v. Russia. Relying on Article 3 (prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment) Denis Kuptsov, then a minor, complained about the appalling the conditions of his detention in a police station where he was held for one week after his arrest in Volgograd in October 2002.
