The APT is thrilled to announce the election of George Tugushi as a new member of the APT Board during the recent General Assembly.
George Tugushi, from Georgia, is a human rights consultant with extensive expertise in torture prevention. His career includes serving as a member of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and the UN Committee against Torture. Additionally, Mr Tugushi held the position of Ombudsman of Georgia, where he oversaw the National Preventive Mechanism.
Mr Tugushi's experience in detention monitoring in Georgia and across Europe will greatly enhance the APT's strategic development.
