Detention monitors and others working for torture prevention now have a dedicated online space to meet and collaborate: the APT’s Virtual Café.
Launched this week on our Torture Prevention Village, the Virtual Café is a place to connect with peers across the globe and discuss torture prevention issues.
You can keep up to date with the latest news and events on the Announcement Board.
Through the Discussion Boards, you can join a conversation, ask questions and learn from colleagues, and collaborate to make change happen.
There will be Discussion Boards for each course, available in different languages, as well as on other thematic issues.
“We will also host online conversations with torture prevention experts and practitioners where you can engage directly and ask questions,” said APT Deputy Secretary General Audrey Olivier Muralt.
“Our goal is to provide a space where detention monitors and others working for change can support, encourage and inspire one another,” she said.
To join the Virtual Café, you first need to register on our Torture Prevention Village.
You can also take one of our open courses: Fundamentals of detention monitoring, Gender-sensitive detention monitoring, and Monitoring for LGBTI+ people in detention.
The development of the Virtual Café was possible with the support of the Loterie Romande and the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation.
