Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. On 22 November, the APT co-facilitated an introductory session on detention monitoring methodology with regard to migrants in detention for civil society organisations from the Asia-Pacific region. The event was organised by the International Coalition on Detention of Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Migrants, an alliance of NGOs concerned by the ever-expanding use of detention as a means to control migration flows and a number of instances of ill-treatment of those migrants. This formed part of the first ever Asia-Pacific Consultation on Refugee Rights, a landmark event which took place on 20 - 21 November.
