Abdolkhani and Karimnia v. Turkey

On 27 July in the case of Abdolkhani and Karimnia v. Turkey the Court ruled that Turkey had violated Article 3 of the Convention for holding two Iranian refugees in a basement at Hasköy police headquarters in conditions of severe overcrowding for a period of three months. In doing so, Turkey had subjected the two men to degrading treatment.
