The APT will be in Bangkok from 9-13 July 2018, as part of its new project on implementing safeguards to reduce risks of torture and ill-treatment.
During the mission, the APT will collect information about practices on the ground and engage in confidence-building measures with Thai officials, including by signing a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Justice Liberties and Rights Protection Department on 9 July.
A one day focus group discussion with authorities, including lawyers, on practices and challenges on the ground will take place on 10 July. The APT will also conduct bilateral meetings from the 11-13 July, with various national partners that includes Cross Cultural Foundation, Thai Institute of Justice, and OHCHR Bangkok.
