Uganda

The APT has supported the UNCAT domestication process in Uganda for many years, by establishing a strategic partnership with the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) and supporting a national coalition against torture (CAT) leaded by the African Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (ACTV). After the adoption of a national legislation against torture in September 2012, the APT is now reinforcing the cooperation with the UHRC and CAT members for promoting an effective implementation of the new law.
