On this International Day of Support for Victims of Torture, the APT joined with civil society organizations and public institutions to make an urgent call for the creation of a Local Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, in accordance with the provisions of the United Nations Optional Protocol against Torture and the federal law creating the National System for the Prevention of Torture.
