French Summer University for National Preventive Mechanisms
We are pleased to announce that the first French speaking summer university for National Preventive Mechanisms will take place in July, in France.
The course is a collaboration between the APT and the Institute of Human Rights in Lyon, with support of the International Organisation of the Francophonie and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
During five days of training, 18-22 July 2016, participants will gain a better theoretical and practical understanding of the prevention of torture, with a focus on monitoring of police detention.
The course is now open for registration. The number of participants is limited to 20 with a maximum of two participants per NPM. A good command of French is required. More information on the summer university can be found here.
